RESPIFLO* range of CLOSED SYSTEM PRODUCTS have been designed to reduce the risks of bacterial growth and contamination associated with open humidification systems and have been proven to do so. There are varying grades of sterile water for specific needs. These include Injection, Irrigation and Inhalation and these applications should not be mixed. RESPIFLO* is an inhalation grade water and is specially processed to meet this tough requirement; it is double de-ionised, triple distilled PYROGEN FREE WATER, that will not support bacterial growth.

The versatility of RESPIFLO*’s unique multi-use containers and interchangability of all components, with the added safety of a closed system, make it the humidification system of choice where there is concern regarding hospital acquired infections.

Cold Nebulisation

Cold nebulisation is a short-term therapy used with high oxygen flows (above 5 lpm) and delivers 100% relative humidity. This system is used as a hydration therapy increasing humidity levels and allowing the mucociliary tract to function correctly.

 

'Bubble Through' Humidification Systems

'Bubble through' humidification systems are suitable for low gas flows, delivering a relative humidity of 80% to 95% at room temperature. This type of system is used with patients on low flow supplementary oxygen, where humidity is added to oxygen as a method of maintaining mucociliary function, reducing patient discomfort.

 

Heated Nebulisation

AERODYNE* MN is used as a short-term intensive hydration therapy,delivering 100% humidified gases at, or around,core body temperature. This system can thin, hydrate and maintain humidity levels in the mucous layers of the mucociliary escalator.

 

Heated Humidifications Systems

AERODYNE* 2000 are used to provide higher levels of humidity at temperatures closer to core body temperature. This system can be used on patients receiving oxygen therapy,who are intubated or mechanically ventilated. Heated humidification should be used if the nasopharynx is bypassed (intubation/tracheostomy)or if using high inspiratory flow rates,high flow O2 or CPAP.

 

Ultrasonic Nebulisation

AERODYNE OMEGA PLUS is a short-term super-saturation therapy which rapidly hydrates the respiratory tract. This system delivers 100% relative humidity and produces a dense aerosol quickly and effectively mobilising secretions. Ultrasonic nebulisation is a very effective tool in hysiotherapy and tracheostomy care.
