Covidien Sports Surgery Products

The orthopaedic division are delighted to announce that they will now be adding Covidien Sports surgery products to there ever increasing range. Covidien are one of the largest healthcare companies in the world and there Sports Surgery Division was created in November 2007 with the acquisition of Scandius Biomedical, Inc and the consolidation of the US Surgical Sports Medicine portfolio of products.
Scandius identified the need to perform more clinically beneficial ways to perform high volume reconstruction of the torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament). They have developed two products that are designed to produce significant improvements over the options that surgeons currently have:

TriTis™ for tibial fixation
STRATIS™ ST for femoral fixation of soft tissue grafts.

POLYSORB™ Meniscal Stapler XLS

The USS Sports Medicine™ POLYSORB™ Meniscal Stapler XLS consists of a resorbable braid connecting the two resorbable legs of the staple. The staple is used in the approximation of tissue, specifically the meniscus.
