Syneture™ Bone Wax

Syneture™ Bone Wax is an excellent hemostat with essential hemostatic characteristics for precise applications. Used to control bleeding in bones, it is frequently used by clinicians for hemostasis in sternotomy procedures.

  • Bone Wax (2.5g) is available sterile in individual foil envelopes.
  • For single patient use only as reprocessing and / or resterilization may create the risk of contamination and patient infection.
  • Storage conditions are recommended as below 25°C (77° F), away from moisture and direct heat. Do not subject Bone Wax to excessive heat
  • Open the envelope just prior to use to minimize the possibility of contamination and excessive drying.
  • Use Bone Wax immediately after removal from the envelope.
  • Using aseptic techniques, warm the Bone Wax to desired consistency by manipulation with the fingers or by immersion of the unopened foil packet in a warm sterile solution.
  • Apply the softened Bone Wax to the bone edges as indicated by surgical circumstances and preference of the surgeon.
  • Use Bone Wax sparingly and remove excess Bone Wax from the operative site.
  • Do not use Bone Wax where rapid osseous regeneration and fusion are desired.
  • Discard opened, unused Bone Wax.
